Smart Earphones for Cycling

2009 – Philips Research – In this project I investigated the context of cycling while listening to music in traffic and I designed earphones that detect approaching traffic, which could be a danger to the user.

This project had a strong research focus and centred on the users’ -teenagers’- actual behaviour and instead of trying to prevent people from listening to music in traffic it tried to enable this behaviour in a safe way.
